| PVC-U: fighting back with facts |

Spelling it out in black and white A direct mail setting out the numerous advantages of PVC-U over alternative materials is being sent to over 12,500 members of the PVC-U industry as part of the Fighting Back With Facts Campaign. The leaflet aims to re-establish PVC-U’s credentials as a low cost, long-life, eco-friendly building material and to combat much of the inaccurate and misleading anti-PVC propaganda spread by the pro-timber lobby and some environmental groups. “We want to show how PVC-U outperforms alternative materials across a whole range of issues from thermal efficiency and recycling to whole-life costs and environmental impact.” explains Martin Randall, Chairman of Crystal Direct and founder of the Fighting Back With Facts campaign. “We also want to demonstrate the urgent need for a well funded, well organised campaign supported by the whole industry to take this message to the public.” Launched earlier this month, the Fighting Back With Facts campaign aims to provide installers and fabricators, and others in the PVC-U industry, with a platform to promote PVC-U. |
